FBIRD_FREE_RESULT

Purpose

Use the fbird_free_result function to release the resources held by a result set.

Syntax

<free_result> ::=
   fbird_free_result( res_hndl )

Element
Type
Description
res_hndl
resource
A valid result set handle
<return>
bool
True on success, False on failure

Semantics

The fbird_free_result function releases the resources used by a result set returned from fbird_query or fbird_execute. After a result set has been released it can no longer be used by the various functions dealing with result sets.

This function returns True on success or False on failure

Example

The below example fetches a result set and releases its resources after all rows have been read:

$conn = fbird_connect($host, $username, $password);
$sql = 'SELECT * FROM tblname';
$res = fbird_query($conn, $sql);
while ($row = fbird_fetch_assoc($sres)) {
   echo $row["EMAIL"]."\n";
}
fbird_free_result($res);
fbird_close($conn);
